Refinance Strategy

Refinancing isn't just about rates

A lot of people think refinancing only makes sense if rates drop significantly. But there are other reasons to refinance that have nothing to do with what rates are doing. You might refinance to shorten your loan term, switch from an adjustable rate to a fixed one for peace of mind, consolidate debt, or tap into equity for a home improvement. Sometimes the real win isn't a lower payment—it's a better fit for where you are now. If you've been in your home a few years and your situation has changed, it's worth a conversation. I can walk through your options and help you figure out whether refinancing makes sense for your goals.

Let's talk about whether refinancing could work for you right now.

Tips for Homeowners

Year-End Tax & Mortgage Planning

1.

Consider making your January mortgage payment in December to get an extra month of deductible interest in the current tax year (consult your tax advisor first).

2.

If you plan to sell next year, now is a good time to document improvements — receipts and records add to your cost basis and reduce taxable capital gain at sale.

3.

Review your W-4 withholding if you bought a home this year — your mortgage interest deduction may mean you're having too much withheld from each paycheck.
